The Southern Sleep Society will recharge energy levels and interest in both the clinical and research aspects of sleep medicine and stimulate the minds of young investigators to continue the traditions of training and educating colleagues.
Southern Sleep Society Partners with VASM for 2020 Virtual Conference
The 42nd Annual Southern Sleep Society Meeting was cancelled in March due to the Covid 19 pandemic, but we did not want to miss the opportunity to provide our colleagues, members and friends the high level educational program in 2020 just as we have done for the past 42 years. Partnering with Virginia Academy of Sleep Medicine is the right decision to make this happen.
The VASM/SSS conference still features some of the presenters that were speaking during the March conference, and the conference offers continuing education credits for Physicians, sleep technologists, Respiratory Therapists and other allied health professionals. You will also have the chance to stop by the booths.
Registration is now open. Southern Sleep Society participants receive a discounted registration fee for attending.
2021 WILL BE A BANNER YEAR
Plans are underway to meet in person in Mid-May 2021 in Charlotte, NC.
Stay tuned for further information while negotiations are completed.
In the past year we have lost four colleagues well known to members of the Southern Sleep Society (SSS); Christian Guilleminault, Dennis Hill, Helio Lemmi and William C. Dement. Since I knew each of these individuals personally, I was asked if I would provide some brief remembrances about each. With the greatest respect and admiration, I present these anecdotes.
