Founders’ & Presidents’ Award

The Southern Sleep Society has hosted the Founders' Award for the past seventeen years. Participants include Sleep Fellows, Residents, interns and sleep technologists. The winner of the award receives a $500 stipend. Other participants have the opportunity to win smaller awards and/or sleep disorders books.

Abstract Submissions

Submit all abstracts to Marietta Bibbs, BA, RPSGT via email: Submission period is January 5, 2015 through February 16, 2015.

Abstracts are now being accepted for oral or poster presentation format. Abstract presenters are required to register for the Southern Sleep Society meeting.

Oral presentations are scheduled throughout the meeting. Abstracts must be submitted for consideration by February 15, 2015.

Poster presentations will be displayed in the exhibit hall Friday, April 17, 2015 through Saturday, April 18, 2015. The presenting author of the poster abstract is expected to be physically present at the poster during exhibit hall breaks in order to answer questions. Posters should be clear and organized for viewing and should measure no larger than 4’x4′. Posters need to be assembled by 8:00am on the day of the presentation and remain on display until 5:00pm on Friday and 12:00noon on Saturday.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

In addition to registering for the annual Southern Sleep Society meeting, authors are required to write an original abstract. If an author chooses to submit information from an abstract that has previously been presented and/or published, all data must be current, updated and rewritten. Abstracts submitted for review should not exceed six hundred (600) words. Included in the word count are the following sections: introduction, methods, results and conclusion. Abstracts are accepted based on their scientific and clinical merit. All abstracts are peer-reviewed. Notice of acceptance will be sent to the contact author via email by March 1, 2015.
