The Program

The educational program is titled “Sleep Medicine 2017—A Discipline in Transition” and includes a unique lineup of keynote presenters, invited lecturers and speakers from leading sleep programs and medical centers around the country. Participants include sleep physicians, clinical researchers, Pulmonologists, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Internal Medicine and Primary Care Physicians, Nurses, clinical sleep educators, sleep technologists, Respiratory Therapists, Sleep Fellows, Residents and students.

Early registration ends on February 3rd, 2017.

Make Plans to Attend

The Southern Sleep Society meeting is the oldest regional sleep organization in the Country and is well-known for the caliber of lectures and education that it brings to participants. Each year, the Society brings in new members, while also retaining members and friends who attend this meeting year after year.

We make every effort to ensure that our Exhibitors receive ample exposure to attendees, and plan most of our educational and extracurricular activities adjacent to the exhibit hall. Breaks are 30 minutes and exhibitors attend breakfast, lunch, reception and breaks. Exhibitors will also have the opportunity to visit with participants who attend the Technologist Course. This course draws well over 100 Sleep Technologists and allied health professionals, including Nurses and Physicians.

Exhibitors and supporters have opportunities ranging from participating in the exhibit show to underwriting various conference activities to advertising on the Southern Sleep Society’s website. All supporters have signage on their tables denoting the level of support as well as signage at the registration desk and special recognition on the conference brochure. Exhibitor Benefits

Opportunity for Exhibitors to meet with participants attending the Technologist Course. Exhibits open on Thursday, March 23rd, 2017 at 2:45 PM. A reception is also planned for Thursday evening in the exhibit hall.

Exhibitor representatives who are sleep technologists or respiratory therapists can also earn continuing education credits by attending education tracks at no additional cost.
Exhibitors are invited to participate in all extracurricular activities, including the annual golf tournament, Houston tours and the Founders Award Reception.

Education Credits & Technologist Course

The meeting offers over 23.25 educational credits for technologists and Allied Health Professionals who attend all 4 days of the conference. Participants attending the Southern Sleep Society meeting only earn up to 15.5 educational credits. Offering this large amount of educational credits is a significant incentive to increase attendance.

Collaboration with AAST at the Technologist Course will improve participation from Allied Health Professionals.
Continuing education credits for Nurses and other allied health professionals are offered, which increases participation from Nurse Practitioners, CNAs and LPNs who work in sleep medicine.

Special Accommodations Rate

The JW Marriott is the hosting venue for the 39th annual meeting, and has offered a generous rate of $159 plus applicable tax for a Deluxe Room or a King Suite. Pricing is offered 3/21-3/26/2017. Reservations should be received on or before March 2, 2017 (the cutoff date). At the cutoff date, hotel will determine whether it can accept reservations based on a space and rate-available basis.

The Southern Sleep Society is renting exhibit space for each exhibitor that registers to attend the conference. The exhibit rental includes booth space and up to 4 representatives at no additional cost. A 6-foot draped table is provided along with two chairs. Exhibitors requiring backdrops and exhibit space greater than what is required for a 6 foot table must notify Southern Sleep Society in advance. The Hotel requires that Southern Sleep Society provide a fully completed data sheet for each Exhibitor that rents a booth for its event.

Due to limited storage space at the hotel, exhibitors should plan to send packages no earlier than 3 days prior to show dates.   • Exhibitors and commercial supporters may opt to purchase a website banner ad which will be placed on the Southern Sleep Society’s website for one year at a cost of $250.00. Commercial supporters are not required to be in attendance at the meeting to purchase a banner ad on our website.
  • Exhibitors and commercial supporters are eligible to become corporate members of the Southern Sleep Society. Corporate membership dues are $50 and provide access to membership meeting minutes and a vote in planning future meetings.
  • Exhibitor representatives attending the meeting are invited to participate in the annual golf tournament on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Wildcat Golf Club. The tournament starts at 1:00 p.m. and green fees are $80.00.
